Job Summary:
As a Float Medical Assistant, you'll be the backbone of our behavioral healthcare team, ensuring that patients receive exceptional care across multiple locations. Your role is diverse, encompassing clinical and administrative tasks, making every day unique and rewarding.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Patient Care Excellence: Prepare patients for exams, record vital signs, and assist clinicians with various in-office treatments and procedures.
- Patient Coordination: Manage the entire patient journey, from pre-certifications and referrals to authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling.
- Efficient Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely entry of patient data in the EMR system, as well as complete and accurate billing information.
- Telemedicine Support: Assist in connecting patients for telemedicine visits, ensuring a seamless virtual healthcare experience.
- Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe environment, including equipment sterilization and basic maintenance, as well as stocking and restocking patient care areas.
- Communication: Foster effective communication with both patients and colleagues, demonstrating a strong service orientation and teamwork.
- Patient Flow: Collaborate with the front office to optimize patient flow through the clinical process.
- Supplies Management: Keep inventory well-stocked and organized, including medications and injectables, while monitoring for recalls and expired items.
- Travel: Be ready to travel between our West Valley clinics, embracing the opportunity to work in diverse healthcare settings.
- Cross-Training: As a versatile team member, you'll be cross-trained in various positions to ensure flexibility.
- Other Duties: Embrace new challenges and responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the overall success of our healthcare practice.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Interpersonal Excellence: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Adaptability: A knack for managing multiple priorities efficiently, even in fast-paced environments with short notice.
- HIPAA Savvy: Knowledgeable about HIPAA guidelines and committed to safeguarding Protected Health Information.

Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking, standing, and sitting.
- Occasional kneeling, climbing, or balancing.
- Good vision, including close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical Assisting degree from an accredited college or university. Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification (must obtain within 30 days of employment).
- Experience with office medical procedures, treatments, insurance, managed care operations, EMR, and scheduling software.
